Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026 (rev. 2)

This policy applies to all visitors of erigon.tech and its subdomains. For information specifically about cookies, see our Cookie Policy.

1. Data Controller

The entity responsible for the processing of your personal data (“data controller”) is:

Erigon Technologies AG
Dammstrasse 16
6300 Zug, Switzerland
Email: hello [at] erigon.tech

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) as we do not meet the thresholds requiring mandatory appointment under Art. 37 GDPR or Art. 10 revDSG. For all data protection enquiries, please contact us at the address above.

2. Applicable Law

Erigon Technologies AG is incorporated in Switzerland and processes data in accordance with:

  • The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Regulation (EU) 2016/679, to the extent we process data of individuals in the EEA
  • The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG / nDSG), in force since 1 September 2023, and its implementing ordinance (DSV)

Switzerland is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where discrepancies exist between GDPR and revDSG requirements, we apply the higher standard.

3. Data We Collect and Why

3.1 Contact Form Submissions

When you submit a contact form, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Organisation name (optional)
  • Message content
  • A timestamp and record of your consent

Purpose: To respond to your enquiry.
Legal basis: Your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 31(2)(a) revDSG).
Voluntary: Providing this data is entirely voluntary. If you do not submit the form, we cannot respond to your enquiry, but there are no other consequences.
Retention: Up to 3 years, then securely deleted unless a longer statutory retention period applies.

3.2 Server Access Logs

Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, which may include:

  • IP address (potentially personal data)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL
  • Pages requested and timestamp
  • HTTP status code

Purpose: Security monitoring, debugging, and ensuring website availability.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 31(1) revDSG). Our legitimate interest is to protect the website against attacks, detect errors, and ensure availability. We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your privacy interests, given the limited nature of the data, the short retention period, and the absence of any profiling or marketing use. You have the right to object to this processing (see Section 7).
Retention: Maximum 30 days, then automatically deleted.

3.3 Cookies and Local Storage

We use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage entries. We do not use marketing or tracking cookies. We use Plausible Analytics, a cookieless and privacy-preserving tool that collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not track individuals across sites or devices. Full details are available in our Cookie Policy.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not:

  • Use Google Analytics or any tracking, profiling, or behavioural analytics service
  • Use social media tracking pixels (Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, etc.)
  • Collect or process special category data (health, biometric, political, religious, etc.)
  • Perform automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects
  • Sell, rent, or trade your personal data

5. Sharing and International Data Transfers

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Your data may be accessed by:

  • Hosting providers — acting as data processors under a data processing agreement. Where hosting occurs outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the Swiss SCCs recognised by the FDPIC.
  • Legal or regulatory authorities — if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose data to the extent strictly necessary.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption (TLS) for all data in transit
  • Access controls restricting data to authorised personnel only
  • Regular review of our security practices

In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you without undue delay in accordance with Art. 34 GDPR and Art. 24 revDSG.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR (Arts. 15–22) and the Swiss revDSG (Arts. 25–32), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR / Art. 25 revDSG) — obtain confirmation of whether we process your data and receive a copy
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR / Art. 32 revDSG) — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR / Art. 32 revDSG) — request deletion where data is no longer necessary, consent is withdrawn, or processing is unlawful
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) — request limited processing in certain circumstances
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR / Art. 28 revDSG) — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR / Art. 31 revDSG) — withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing

To exercise any of these rights, email hello [at] erigon.tech with the subject line “Data Subject Request”. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.

8. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority:

  • Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB) — www.edoeb.admin.ch
  • EU/EEA: The data protection authority of your EU member state of residence or the location of the alleged infringement. See edpb.europa.eu.

We encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve your concern directly.

9. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will post a notice on our website.
